American Ambassador to the United Nations, Linda Thomas Greenfield, has said that African countries should not buy oil from Russia.

While in a press conference in Uganda's capital Kampala after finishing the meeting with President Yoweri Museveni, the ambassador said that Russia is not restricted from selling any agricultural products.

But Africa is not allowed to buy Russian oil because it is an obstacle of the United Nations and the United States on that country.

Linda Thomas Greenfield has said that Africa can buy grain from Russia but not oil

The ambassador during a meeting with journalists was quoted as saying:

"If a country engages with Russia where sanctions have been imposed, then it is breaking our sanctions set by the United Nations. We warn African countries not to break those sanctions, if they go against breaking those sanctions then action will be taken against them"

In addition, the Ambassador said in the meeting that Russia has been restricted from selling its oil to Africa, but it has not been restricted from selling its agricultural products such as fertilizers and wheat and African countries can buy those products.
