TMRC Signs Memorandum of Understanding to Help Poor Households, Ridhiwani Kikwete Makes a Statement

The Tanzania Mortgage Refinance Institution (TMRC) has signed an agreement to help poor households with the International Organization to help poor households Habitat for Humanity International as the first step in the joint efforts of those organizations to expand and strengthen the financial sector and housing for low-income people in Tanzania.
Deputy Minister of Lands, Housing and Housing Development Ridhiwani Kikwete speaking during the signing said the new partnership is an important step to fulfill the government's goal of helping low-income households in Tanzania, it will open financial doors and improve housing for poor households, ""Tanzania is one of the countries with the fastest growing economy in the world, however many families still fail to find decent housing"
The plan is to support the construction of poor households
TMRC Chief Executive Officer Oscar Mgaya has said:
"TMRC believes that there is a great possibility for housing loans to reach poor families. We as lenders have a desire to build low-cost houses so that even those with low income can benefit from these loans", under the new partnership Habitat for Humanity International will provide technical support to TMRC to enable the construction of affordable houses so that every Tanzanian can benefit.
