Champion Mountain Climber Dies Falling From Montblanc Mountains

Mountain climbing and skiing champion Adele Milloz, 26, dies after falling from the Montblanc mountains in France.

 

Milloz had given up professional sports and moved into guiding mountaineers.

 

He and his partner, were climbing Aiguille du Peigne, France on Friday before the incident happened.

Other climbers witnessed the fall and shouted, while the exact cause of the fall is still unknown

 

Milloz was an experienced climber who had previously competed in skimo mountaineering, which involves climbing to the top of a frozen mountain and skiing down.

 

Milloz, who grew up in Tignes in the French Alps, won the world championship in the sport in 2017, and the European Championship in 2018.

He said: "I am deeply saddened by the death of ski mountaineering champion Milloz in Mont Blanc. I send my deepest condolences to his family, loved ones and colleagues from the National Skiing and Mountaineering Union in Chamonix."
