A retired minister dies while in prison in Guinea, his family mourns him

Former Guinean minister Lounceny Camara had already been hospitalized once before being jailed in May, the cause of his death was a stroke on Friday and he died in hospital the following evening, his brother confirmed.


Lounceny Camara's family unsuccessfully appealed to the court so that Camara would be allowed to travel abroad to get medical treatment, added his brother Ali who is giving information.

Lounceny Camara, who was 62 years old, is among the former ministers and senior officials who were accused of embezzlement of public funds and imprisoned after the army removed former President Alpha Conde from power last year.
